10 funny Wayne Rooney acting videos, including DC United announcement and that Manchester United wine advert

Wayne Rooney confirmed his move to DC United on Thursday after leaving Everton.

The striker signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with his new Major League Soccer club and they announced the move with the following video.

This was not the first time Rooney’s ‘acting’ has been put to the test during his football career.

X-Men Apocalypse trailer

Rooney became a new superhero in this astonishing promo piece ahead of the release of X-Men Apocalypse in 2016.

Nike ‘Write The Future’ World Cup 2010 advert

The iconic Rooney ad. Wayne sees his career take two very different paths as part of Nike’s pre-World Cup film in 2010.

Turkish Airlines ‘Business Class’ advert

Wazza is only in this team effort for a few seconds, but instantly steals the show.

Nike ‘In The Zone’ advert

Back at a time when Rooney could afford to recklessly shave his hair, he did so for a Nike advert.

Nike Rooney v Rory McIlroy in football golf

This is less of an original idea now that ‘footgolf’ is increasing in popularity, though it does include a cameo from the Brazilian Ronaldo.

Nike ‘Put It Where You Want It’ advert

No words needed from the young United man.

Powerade ‘Rooney v Rooney’ advert

What’s better than one acting Rooney? TWO acting Rooneys of course.

Yet another Manchester United film trailer, thankfully for Wayne, he doesn’t shoulder all of the embarrassment this time.

Manchester United transfer news: Marouane Fellaini officially signs two-year deal to keep him at Old Trafford

Manchester United 2018/19 pre-season fixtures and schedule: Who are Jose Mourinho’s side playing and where will they be travelling?

David Ornstein tweets about Arsenal defender Calum Chambers possibly signing a new contract and fans responded with their funny memes

When David Ornstein tweets about Arsenal, the supporters listen and then reply to him with brilliant memes.

His latest bit of club gossip was about Calum Chambers signing a new contract.

This is obviously great news, but the fact Arsenal fans heard it first from the BBC Sport correspondent meant they could pay tribute to the ‘meme lord’ in their own way. Remember when he tweeted news of Bernd Leno’s arrival?

Chambers has been an Arsenal player since 2014 when the club paid Southampton £16million for him. He spent the 2016/17 season on loan Middlesbrough, but new manager Unai Emery has seen enough potential in the 23-year-old to want to keep him at the club. Arsenal have already snapped up Leno and Stephan Lichtsteiner, while they have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

However, like many people on Twitter, talkSPORT.com was only there for the memes, which you can see a selection of below.

Philadelphia Eagles' Jay Ajayi gives his predictions for the knockout stages of the World Cup - can England go all the way?? Free-Kick: Belgium, Columbia finish on top as hype builds for Round of 16 Harry Maguire says England boss Gareth Southgate was "brave" to start a much-changed side in the Three Lions' final group stage match against Belgium on Thursday. England, having already qualified for the knockouts, were beaten 1-0 by the eventual group winners -- a result that placed them in what many would consider the easier half of the bracket. Not so easy, however, is their round-of-16 matchup with Colombia on Tuesday in Moscow. But the Leicester City defender, who was out of the starting XI...

Former Argentina striker Hernan Crespo has hope that Argentina will have a chance at beating France on Saturday. MOSCOW -- Diego Maradona might be a giant of the game's history, FIFA said Friday, but even he must show respect to other fans at World Cup stadiums. Asked about complaints that the 57-year-old had made an obscene gesture at other spectators after Argentina snatched a late win Wednesday, FIFA's World Cup chief executive Colin Smith told reporters that the former Argentine player was a valued part of its Legends programme to promote the game. VAR decisions at World Cup 99.3 percent accurate - FIFA

Take a look at how VAR has affected the 2018 FIFA World Cup through the group stage in its debut at the tournament. Head of FIFA Referees Committee Pierluigi Collina insists they have not ruled out allowing TV viewers to listen in on VAR decisions in the future. FIFA says video reviews are "close to perfection" at the first World Cup to use the system, claiming 99.3 percent of "match-changing" plays were called correctly. The system has had a major impact, with seven penalties awarded using the video assistant referee (VAR) system.
